Posts: Postdoctoral Fellow (Duration: 2 years, renewable upon mutual agreement)

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a dynamic new university established over 30 years ago, yet it is already highly ranked (66th in 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 34th in 2022 QS World University Rankings). The University has established the Center for Fundamental Physics (CFP) <http://cfp.ust.hk>, with faculty affiliated with HKUST Department of Physics <http://physics.ust.hk> and/or HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) <https://ias.hkust.edu.hk>, including Andrew Cohen, Tao Liu, Kam Biu Luk, Kirill Prokofiev, George Smoot, Henry Tye and Yi Wang.

The CFP invites applications for postdoctoral positions effective from July 2023 or earlier in the areas of theoretical particle physics, particle astrophysics and cosmology (duration: 2 years, renewable upon good performance and mutual agreement). In addition to postdoc positions fully affiliated with IAS, there are two joint ones. One of them is with Donostia International Physics Center in Spain (Prof. Tom Broadhurst; duration: 2 (IAS) + 1 (DIPCS) years) and its appointee is expected to participate in JWST data analyzing, lensing modeling and/or observation simulating (see http://cfp.ust.hk/crf for details). Another one is with IHEP (Beijing) (Prof. Jing Ren; duration: 1 (IHEP) + 1 (IAS) years, renewable with IAS upon good performance and mutual agreement) and its appointee is expected to participate in broadly defined study on particle astrophysics and the relevant data analysis.

Starting salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits in HK including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.

Please apply via Academic Jobs Online <https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/23048> by uploading your curriculum vitae with a list of publications, research statement, and three letters of reference. Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled.
